R2 CARES: APRIL RECAP

R2 Logistics held its first annual company-wide competition, The R2 Fitness Challenge, during the first two weeks of April. Employees participated by choosing one of two divisions; Walk/Run/Bike or Weightlifting. Totals for each division were tracked using mobile apps which participants had to use daily to log their activity.

The Charity Miles app was used to track mileage for the Walk/Run/Bike division. Charity Miles enables people to earn corporate sponsorships for charity while walking, running or biking. The winner of both the Men’s and Women’s category was then decided by the total amount of money raised for charity. Dan (left) won the Men’s Walk/Run/Bike division by accumulating 81.6 miles over the two week period and earning $20.40 for charity. Della (not pictured) won the Women’s Walk/Run/Bike division with 48.9 miles and earning $12.24.

The BodySpace app was used to track the total amount of weight lifted for the weightlifting division. Lorena (bottom right) won the Women’s Weightlifting division by lifting a total of 14,445 pounds. Josh (top right) won the Men’s Weightlifting division by lifting a total of 612,725 pounds.

Each winner from the Men’s and Women’s Walk/Run/Bike and Weightlifting divisions took home a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card.

Alona (top right) won the social media side challenge where employees were encouraged to promote their activity and the winner was decided by most ‘likes’ for their picture.

R2 Logistics as a whole accumulated 522.85 total miles in the Walk/Run/Bike division which equaled a total of $103.19 donated to multiple charities. Participants in the Weightlifting division moved 1,650,740 pounds; an equivalent of roughly 41 full truckloads.
