R2 SURVIVES THE END OF THE WORLD

On Saturday, May 30th, associates from the Denver operations office joined the End of the World Pub Crawl. The annual event gave R2 employees the opportunity to come together as a team as they dodged zombies trying to take their “life.” (Participants in the event wore flags and ran from bar to bar as zombies occupied the street and tried to steal their flags.) Participants who managed to keep all their flags were entered into a grand prize drawing, while those who were unable to were entered into a drawing for other prizes.

Funds raised for the event also helped support the Love Hope Strength (LHS) organization. Rather than funding cancer research, LHS focuses on building and supporting cancer centers around the world, boosting awareness of global cancer needs, and expanding international bone marrow databases. Through their partnership with Delete Blood Cancer, LHS frequently spearheads bone marrow drives at concerts and major musical events like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits. LHS has added close to 100,000 people to the national marrow database and found close to 1,500 of matches for patients in need of bone marrow transplants. Headquartered in Denver, LHS now has chapters in the United Kingdom, Mexico and Australia.

Participating in the pub crawl were (pictured from left to right) Keith Kniaz, Kyle Douglass, Dylan Foody and Corey Proffitt. “The event was a lot of fun!” stated Proffitt. “The zombies started out moving a little slow, but eventually started moving a lot quicker.” By the end of the event, Proffitt and Kniaz were the only survivors from the R2 team.
