Jacksonville, FL – January 13, 2014

On Sunday, January 12th, R2 Logistics’ associates volunteered at The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville located at 824 Children’s Way, Jacksonville, FL 32207. R2 served as the “Caring Cooks” for the night and made dinner for the families staying at The House. Dinner consisted of tacos, refried beans, rice, fruit and chocolate chip cookies.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville supports the health and well-being of children by providing lodging and other services for critically ill, chronically ill and seriously injured children and their families. The House has offered support and temporary lodging to more than 32,500 families while their sick or injured children have received medical care at Jacksonville’s excellent hospitals and clinics. The 30-bedroom House allows families to stay together and close to their children during a very trying time.

Jeff Schroeder, R2 Logistics’ Marketing Coordinator said, “Being someone who had a family member undergo cancer treatment at a young age I can sympathize with what these families are going through. You want to do whatever you can to help them out, and sometimes that’s as small as serving them a home cooked meal. It also felt great and affirmed our efforts when family members told us they appreciated the meal we had made for them.”
