On Saturday, November 16th, R2 Logistics’ associates volunteered at Second Harvest of Northeast Florida to aid the organization in processing their received food donations. Second Harvest is a food bank located in Jacksonville, Florida. Their mission is to distribute food and grocery products to hungry people and to educate the public about the causes and possible solutions to problems of domestic hunger.

R2 volunteers found themselves working on the “Sharing Floor” Saturday morning. Here, pallets of boxes containing miscellaneous canned and boxed food items are sorted into their specific food category such as canned corn, beans, mixed vegetables, fruits and etc.

Marcia Myers, an Accounts Receivable Representative at R2 Logistics, said, “It was a great experience working at Second Harvest. I am very thankful to be able to volunteer some of my time to helping out an organization that has such a great deal of importance within our community.” Kate Robbins, another A/R Rep., joined in by saying, “I enjoyed the work.
