Jacksonville, FL – October 6, 2014

On Saturday, October 4th R2 Logistics’ associates from the Columbus operations branch participated in the 3rd annual Courage, Conquer and Cure 5K Race. Held in Canal Winchester, Ohio, all proceeds from the event benefitted the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCC).

Stefanie Spielman was the mother of four and wife of former football star, Chris Spielman. Spielman had battled cancer five times while using her high profile to raise millions of dollars for the cause. She established the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research after her initial diagnosis, considering it a life mission to raise money and awareness.

Currently, the most talented and experienced researchers in the world are working to find a cure at the OSUCC. And these researchers carry with them Stefanie’s dream of a cancer-free world.

R2 associates participating in the race were Derek Brown, Jessica Powell, Travis Martin and Brian Barnett. Barnett commented on the race saying, “As someone who had a family member survive breast cancer, I feel that this race was beneficial for raising awareness and ultimately to one day find a cure for not only breast cancer but all forms of cancer.”
